|Two sea anemones with magnified stinging cells. These creatures were very difficult to preserve, so glass models were made for studying marine life in the 19th Century. The glass blowers also made solid glass-mass eyes for cosmetic use by the blind, which became widely sought after, despite the fact that the glass blowers never took any pleasure in modelling eyes.
