|Beautiful sharp pics from space. The left one of the now famous comet 67P, was shot by Europe’s comet chaser Rosetta, after ten years traveling through space. The comet is about the size of the city of Amsterdam. At right is a part of the Large Magellanic Cloud, a small nearby galaxy that orbits our galaxy, the Milky Way. For this pic of the beautiful Tarantula Nebula, the customary filter that selects the red light, was replaced by a filter letting through the near-infrared light, so other less prominent emission lines dominate in the blue and green filters.
